Eric Donald Jansen was born on February 19, 1990, in Effingham, Illinois, to his loving parents, Andrew and Lisa Jansen. He was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many during his time with us. Eric’s passion for sports led him to pursue a Masters of Science in Sports Administration, which he earned after completing his education at St. Michael’s Grade School, Neoga High School, and Eastern Illinois University. His dedication and hard work were evident in his academic achievements.
Early Life and Education
Eric’s journey began in the small town of Effingham, Illinois, where he was raised by his parents, Andrew and Lisa Jansen. From a young age, it was clear that Eric possessed a thirst for knowledge and a drive to succeed. He excelled academically, graduating from St. Michael’s Grade School and Neoga High School with distinction. His passion for sports and his desire to make a difference in the field led him to pursue higher education at Eastern Illinois University, where he obtained his Masters of Science in Sports Administration. He is survived by his parents, Andy and Lisa Jansen, who provided unwavering support and love throughout his life. Eric also leaves behind his brother, Lee Jansen, and his sisters, Jamie Burton, Kelly Arrotti, and Kristen Snyder, along with their respective families. His nephews and nieces, Brody, Baylor, John, Ava, Ethan, and Kaden, brought him immense joy and were a constant source of laughter and love. Eric’s grandmothers, Marilyn Jansen and Carol Heuerman, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, also mourn his loss.
