OPINION: This piece may feature commentary reflecting the author’s viewpoint.

Nate Silver, the mind behind the poll analysis site FiveThirtyEight, remarked in a NewsNation chat this week that the Democrats’ decision to ignore Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is “likely” a “fault.”

“His impact has lessened” recently, Silver mentioned to host Dan Abrams, noting that some Democrats leaned towards RFK Jr. when the presidential contest was between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. But many have since reverted to supporting Vice President Kamala Harris after she became the Democratic candidate.

“From what we can gather — and we analyze these figures extensively — RFK now siphons more votes from Trump than from Harris. He’s anti-vax and anti-establishment, which outweighs the Kennedy brand. For example, Democrats tried to remove him from the ballot in states like New York… that’s likely a misstep. It would be better to have RFK pulling anti-establishment votes from Trump.”

Many users on the X platform, however, weren’t convinced by Silver’s viewpoint.

I’m sorry, that doesn’t add up. If he’s pulling more votes from Trump, the Dems should be pleased.

RFK Jr. has consistently been a far-left progressive. Calling him a drain on Trump’s votes is ridiculous.

Probably? But he’s still taking more from Trump because that’s where the outliers are? Alright.

Previously, this individual mentioned voting for Biden and likely for Harris, reflecting his reasoning capacity.
