Lamar Jackson is searching for a team willing to take a chance on him.

Jackson was cut due to injury on Monday, according to Panthers.com.

This is not about the Baltimore Ravens quarterback but rather the Carolina Panthers cornerback.

Jackson, a third-year player from the University of Nebraska, was aiming for a spot in Carolina’s defensive backfield when he got hurt and was eventually released by the team.

Social media users were shocked, thinking the Ravens had released Lamar Jackson, only to discover it was actually the Panthers’ Lamar Jackson who was cut.

The Panthers released Jackson with an injury designation after he suffered an undisclosed injury during Saturday’s preseason game against the Jets, which ended in a 15-12 loss.

This turn of events leaves the 26-year-old without a team as the 2024 season nears.

The former Nebraska player joined the Panthers this offseason, having previously played for the New York Jets, Chicago Bears, and Denver Broncos.

The path has been challenging for the young player, who went undrafted in 2020 before signing with the Jets.

He also spent an offseason with the Kansas City Chiefs before joining Carolina.

Lamar Jackson Might Return to Carolina

The Florida Panthers waived cornerback Lamar Jackson with an injury designation.

The decision followed an unfortunate injury Jackson sustained during Saturday’s 15-12 preseason game against the New York Jets.

His time with the team could continue.

If Jackson is not claimed off waivers, he will land on the Panthers’ injured reserve list and miss the entire 2024 season, unless an injury settlement is reached at some point this year.
