Emhoff was on hand to campaign for his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris, and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. However, rather than energizing the gathering, he found himself navigating an awkward scenario that left many talking.

During the event, Emhoff addressed a modest-sized audience, starting his speech by referencing his notes while discussing his wife. This decision drew some questioning glances, as many attendees were puzzled by his reliance on notes to share heartfelt sentiments about Kamala Harris.

“Who is that person? She’s joyful, which is a good thing. She’s also tough, which is a good thing,” Emhoff remarked while reading from his notes. “And it’s her empathy, it’s her superpower. Her ability to understand what other people are going through, that is really her strength.”

Harris and Emhoff have been married since 2014. They celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on August 22, coinciding with Harris accepting her party’s nomination for president, marking an important milestone in their personal and political lives.
