It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David W. Cook Jr., a beloved resident of Corinth, New York, and Manchester, New Hampshire. David, 34, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the communities he touched throughout his life.
Early Life and Education
David was born and raised in Corinth, New York, to his loving parents Brenda DuPrey and David Cook Sr. He grew up surrounded by the beauty of Glens Falls, NY, where his mother was originally from. David was a bright and ambitious individual who excelled academically at Corinth Central School. He was also a talented athlete and made lasting friendships as a member of the football team.
After graduating from high school, David decided to serve his country and enlisted in the US Army in 2008. He dedicated two years of his life to serving in Afghanistan before being medically discharged in 2012. Despite the challenges he faced, David remained determined to pursue his education. He had plans to attend Mount San Jacinto College to study automobile engineering, a field he was passionate about.
Military Service and Career
David’s time in the military shaped him into a resilient and courageous individual. His dedication and commitment to his fellow soldiers were commendable. After his honorable discharge, David embarked on a career as an auto mechanic. He worked at reputable establishments such as Brattleboro Subaru and VIP Tires & Service, where he honed his skills and became a trusted professional in his field.
Personal Interests and Family
Beyond his professional life, David had a zest for life and a wide range of interests. He was an avid fan of Chevrolet vehicles and took great pleasure in working on cars in his spare time. David also enjoyed the great outdoors, finding solace in hunting and fishing. Additionally, he had a passion for video games, which provided him with a sense of adventure and camaraderie.
David was deeply connected to his family, cherishing the bonds he shared with his mother, Kristen Batistta, and his grandmother, Charis Cook. He was also blessed with seven siblings: Amanda Cook, Leland Cook, Autumn Suprey, Desiree Cook, Kaitlyn Whitford, and Milfred Baker. Their love and support meant the world to him. David had a large extended family, including numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Celebration of Life and Funeral Arrangements
A Celebration of Life for David will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 4 p.m. at the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., located at 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth. Pastor Ernie Wester will preside over the ceremony, honoring David’s memory and the impact he had on those around him. Prior to the service, visitors are welcome to pay their respects at the funeral home from 2 to 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to assist with David’s burial expenses. Your support during this difficult time is greatly appreciated. Together, let us remember David as someone who lived life to the fullest, cherished his loved ones, and left an indelible mark on the lives he touched.
