David was born on November 2, 1962, in Woodstock, Illinois, to his parents John Kevin and Barbara Ann Carey. He grew up alongside his four siblings, forming a close-knit family bond that would endure throughout his life.
Early Life and Education
David’s formative years were spent in Woodstock, where he attended Woodstock High School. A talented athlete, he excelled in both football and baseball, proudly representing his school on the varsity teams. After graduating from high school, David embarked on a unique journey, working as an oil rig deck worker in Oklahoma for three years. This experience instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the value of hard work.
Following his time in Oklahoma, David joined his father’s construction company, where he honed his skills in the field of construction. However, his passion for aviation led him to pursue a career with United Airlines. He began his journey with the airline as a ramp service associate and reservation consultant, eventually earning his airframe and powerplant license at Richard J. Daley College. For the next 25 years, David dedicated himself to his role as a United aircraft technician, earning the respect of his colleagues and receiving numerous accolades for his exceptional work. Notably, he had the privilege of traveling with American flights from Iraq during the war, showcasing his expertise and dedication in challenging circumstances.
Family and Personal Life
